The major hazard in paintball is the risk of eye damage.  Paintballs travel at close to 200 mph (325 kph), and if an eye takes a direct hit, the eye is likely destroyed.  We do not want you injured and we do not want you to injure anyone else!

Two main rules prevent injuries;

1.  Do not remove your mask for any reason when in the playing area.

2.  Always have your barrel plug in your gun when you are in the Safe Zone.

Safety Page 1 and Page 2 illustrate the importance of these two rules.  We have some photos that you will find interesting and educational.
What does a speeding paintball do to a Kiwi Fruit?  These pages show you!  A Tomato?  An Egg?  You got it! - - An Eye?  This is your guess, but the destruction of the items mentioned, will give you a strong hint!
Before:  Suzy had such beautiful greenish-brown eyes!
Before:  Even when Fred's eyes were bloodshot, at least he could see well!
Before:  I can still remember Frank's brown  eyes, prior to the accident!
The photo shows one type of Barrel Plug.  When a gun is plugged, it can't hurt anyone, and everyone can see that the gun is safe.  No need for claims of, "Don't worry, 'the safety is on' or 'the gun's empty'".
Which gun would you rather be looking at when you have your mask up?
That didn't hurt a bit! Masks are super tough. When masks are down, and barrel plugs are in, accidents don't happen!
